Introduction to Programming – Program overview
Come learn the basics of programming! This course provides a beginner-friendly introduction to programming, covering fundamental concepts, problem-solving techniques, and hands-on coding exercises to build a strong foundation in software development.
Introduction to Programming aims to teach those who are new to computer programming or those who are brushing up on their skills. The aim is to provide a solid introduction to programming concepts while enabling participants to build their own projects. In a fun and relaxing environment, participants will learn basic concepts such as:
- Variables
- Data structures
- Control structures
- Debugging
- Programming languages
This class is for those who are familiar with how to use a computer, with no or minimal programming experience necessary.
Ages 15 - 99+.
A laptop is required. No prior knowledge of programming is necessary. Basic computer skills are recommended.
About the instructors
Matt is a professional software engineer with 15 years of experience in the industry, working at Microsoft as well as at various start-up companies. He enjoys playing games, woodworking, cooking, traveling, hiking, and camping in his spare time.
Jonas studied Mechatronics and Robotics and works at CanEV designing electric vehicle powertrains. He is passionate about programming, robotics, electronics, and open-source software including Linux. In his free time, he enjoys working on his tiny house and circuit boards. Outside of tech, he loves hiking and camping, exploring the outdoors whenever possible. Jonas is always looking to innovate, learn, and collaborate on exciting projects.
