The Arrowsmith Community Recreation Association is a non-profit organization that aims to connect community through sports, arts and culture.
Volunteering in Arrowsmith
ACRA offers free and affordable recreation services in Area F (Errington, Coombs, Hilliers, Whiskey Creek, and Meadowood) for people of all ages. While all of our programs are situated in Area F, they welcome everyone regardless of where they live.
The efforts of ACRA’s volunteers ensure recreation is affordable for people of all walks of life, keep long-running events alive, and enrich the place in which we live. ACRA is involved with over twenty recreation programs and a dozen community events throughout the year.
In particular, volunteers are needed to assist at large events including:
- Coombs Family Day in February
- 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament in May
- Coombs Community Picnic in June
- "Blast from the Past” Car Show concession on August long weekend
- Coombs Fair (Kids Zone) in mid-August
- Coombs Candy Walk on October 31
We have a wide range of tasks for people of all interests. We need volunteers to:
- Assist with children’s crafts and activities
- Set up/take down for events by moving tables, chairs, and equipment
- Prepare and serve food in the concession
- Participate in planning committees for events
- Direct parking in the parking lot
- Score keep at our Youth Basketball Tournament
- Decorate the Chicken Barn the week before Halloween
Volunteers are always appreciated, even if they are only able to join us for a few hours per year at an event.
