Samurai Sword Training

Course Information

Considered the grandfather of all martial arts, Samurai Sword Training emphasizes technique through controlled choreographed movements. Participants will gain confidence, discipline, and de-escalation techniques along with a sense of focus and calm.


This one-hour, no-contact class is designed to improve coordination, mobility, and overall fitness in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. All equipment and training materials are provided, making this an excellent choice for anyone that is curious about martial arts but is hesitant to try more combative styles.


Discover the flow, tradition, and strength of Samurai Sword Training. No experience required. All materials will be provided.

Ages: 10 - 99+


Location:  Meadowood Community Hall

1830 Galvin Place, Qualicum Beach, BC


Price: $100/eight classes


Dates: Thursdays,  Apr. 2 - May 28, 2026*

*no class Apr. 30th


Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Meet the Instructor

Kris Cote

Kris has over 40 years experience training in a variety of martial arts including; Wado Kai Karate, Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, Tomoe Ryu Shinobijutsu, Tenshin Ryu Yoho Battojutsu, Toshindo Ninjutsu and TaeKwonDo.


He loves the beauty of the movements and the deep, rich history of the lineages, reaching back more than 900 years in some martial art forms. 


The best part of teaching for Kris, is witnessing the excitement and sense of satisfaction when a concept or technique clicks for a student.
